Echoes From The Greatest Generation!

WWII William C (Bill) Lane flew a  CARGO GLIDER, CG-4A, “WACO” during Operation Market Garden in the Netherlands.  It was the largest airborne operation up to that period of the war.  Bill tells the story and how her earned his purple heart.

Part I:

   Richard Gallaher was a farm boy from Kingston Tennessee. After Pearl Harbor was attached, he enlisted in the US Army and left college. Richard retells his story of his transition from rural USA to the US Army. Buford Carter,  a Chemical Engineer graduate from Va Tech , talks about life in Oak Ridge during the Manhattan Project.
